かみあい

かみあい【噛み合い】

〔犬などの〕 fighting [biting] each other; a fight; 【機】 gearing; (歯車などの) engagement; meshing; bite.

●ギヤが摩耗してかみ合いが悪くなっている. The gears are worn down so they don't mesh well.

●かみ合いをする bite each other.

噛み合いクラッチ 【機】 a claw [dog] clutch.

噛み合い継ぎ手 【船】 a claw coupling.

噛み合いフライス 【機】 an interlocking (milling) cutter.
